2018 PRIZE GIVING DAY
One of MHSAA’s memorable achievements was the sponsorship of the 2018 Prize Giving Day. Members voluntarily offered various awards in form of trophies, plaques, shields, medals and cash. One of the most distinguished awards was from Bishop Jonas Shiri, the first/1954 headboy of the school, who later became the first black bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Zimbabwe (ELCZ). The school requested 1976 head girl, Professor Senelani Dorothy Hove-Musekwa to be the guest of honour. She was accompanied by other former students namely Bishop Jonasi C. Shiri, Normal Shava (Alumni chairperson), Jane Sithole-Siwela (Alumni secretary) Simon Chikumira (1981) and others. This prize giving ceremony was exceptional because it is now in the history of the school as the most celebratory occasion of its kind; many awards were given out this year. The award recipients, student body, staff, parents and the community at large were highly motivated by this act of generosity. On the other hand, this brought so much joy in the MHSAA camp as it always gives more joy in the hearts of those who freely give.
The alumni members donated the following trophies, medals, shields and cash for the 2018 Prize Giving Day:
